WMU–Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute at the World Ocean Summit 2026

The World Maritime University (WMU)Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute (GOI) will participate in the 13th annual World Ocean Summit, organized by the Economist Impact, taking place onsite at the Palais des Congrès in Montréal, Canada, on 4–5 March 2026. WMU-GOI will serve as an official supporter of the Summit, hosting an exhibition booth at the Summit Expo and contributing to the programme as panelists.

About the World Ocean Summit

The World Ocean Summit convenes global leaders from policy, business, finance, science, and civil society to advance solutions for ocean sustainability. The 2026 edition takes place at a pivotal moment for ocean governance, as new international agreements, emerging science, and growing investment in the ocean economy demand coordinated, practical action across sectors.

WMU-GOI at the Summit

The WMU exhibition booth will showcase WMU's academic programmes, Ocean research and science-policy initiatives as well as outreach and capacity development activities.

The booth will be open to the Summit’s 800+ participants and will feature interactive onsite activities, as well as an online booth accessible through the Summit’s virtual platform.
