National University of Singapore (NUS) College Flagship Global Experience (GEx) Module

The World Maritime University (WMU) and the WMU-Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute (GOI), in collaboration with the National University of Singapore (NUS) will host a one-day visit for students participating in the NUS College Flagship Global Experience (GEx) Module, on 8 June 2026, at the World Maritime University, in Malmö, Sweden.

about the event

Following a successful visit in June 2025, students from the NUS College Flagship GEx Module will return to WMU for a second engagement focused on marine environmental issues, sustainability, and ocean governance. During their visit to WMU, students will engage with faculty and researchers on a range of topics, including:

  • The mandate and mission of WMU
  • Teaching and learning experiences with Sustainable Maritime Leadership (SML) students
  • Green finance and sustainability in shipping
  • The research agenda of the WMU-Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute
  • The development of an inclusive ocean governance
  • The future of ocean governance
  • The visit aims to provide students with a deeper understanding of the intersection between science, policy, law, and sustainability in the maritime and ocean sectors and reflects the growing collaboration between WMU and National University of Singapore.
